NIGERIANS in Britain will be holding a classy gala night on Friday June 27 tagged the Nigerian Centenary Awards UK during which they will celebrate the unique achievements of diasporans who have participated in British society over the last 100 years.
Since Nigeria formally became a part of the British Empire in 1914, Nigerians have been travelling to the UK to study, work and live. Over the last 100 years, Nigeria has produced 15 British mayors and numerous local government councillors and currently, three members of the UK House of Commons (MPs) are of Nigerian extraction.
